I’m Marcos. Stormer of brains, writer of words, builder of decks, leader of creative teams.
I’ve done it a million times.
But I have no idea how I’m going to do it this time.
That’s when it gets weird.
That’s when it gets good.
An idea machine, fueled by curiosity. A passion for solving problems and uncover emotion. A team leader who inspires others to craft content that connects.
From the words to the design to the edit.
From the blank page to version 26 B Rev.
A 20+ year career working with the biggest entertainment studios, brands, and personalities.
Selected Work
ADULT SWIM x KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
CLIENT: Disney / Fox
What I Did: Concept / Co-Writer
Writers: Matthew Barnette, Marcos Gabriel, Marissa Messier
To promote Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on Adult Swim, we were given two parameters. 1) It had to take place in an office. 2) It had to incorporate a full-sized Proximus Caesar statue.
Challenge accepted. Watch the results.
Selected Work
NBA FINALS x ALADDIN
CLIENT: Disney
What I Did: Creative Direction / Concept / Pitch / Scripting
Director: Christopher Alender
For the film Aladdin, we had to imagine what Steph Curry would possibly due if he discovered a magical lamp. Ultimately, we crafted 3 spots that aired during the NBA Finals that revealed Steph would use his wishes to help other people.
The catch? We only had about 4 hours with Steph. To capture 3 commercials.
Along with a lot of production (and post-production) magic, our carefully crafted script and storyboards helped keep the production on the right track.

DRYBAR x SECRET LIFE OF PETS
CLIENT: Universal
What I Did: Concept / Script/ Direct
To promote The Secret Life of Pets, Universal Studios and drybar enlisted our help to bring attention to the barkbar event. A glimpse at the pitch deck below, filled with pictures of dogs getting blow outs in slow motion. That’s the good stuff.
Selected Work
WHIRLPOOL x ENCANTO
CLIENT: Whirlpool / Disney
What I Did: Concept / Script / Creative Direct
Production Company: Soapbox Films, Director Christopher Alender
Whirlpool wanted to tap into young, growing Disney families by showing off their line of products alongside Disney’s Encanto. One problem: Encanto takes place in a pre-electricity world. I wrote up a concept that utilized match cuts and clever editing to showcase the best of both worlds, then worked with storyboard artist Kay Uy to roadmap the spot and make sure all the essential connections were made!

ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE: DISCOVERY OF ARIA
CLIENT: Netflix
What I Did: Campaign Concepts/Creative Direction
For All The Light We Cannot See, I knew we had to think differently to convey the emotional depth and true dedication the filmmakers were exploring. We pushed to explore novel ways to reach a diverse fanbase, and implored storytelling techniques to speak directly to visually impaired audiences.
Still scrolling? Fine. Here’s a little more about myself:
I'm an award-winning Executive Creative Director with 20+ years experience collaborating with studio and entertainment partners, crafting co-branded partnerships, and delivering across social media, broadcast, theatrical, and experiential venues.
As a proud Fili-Rican (Half-Filipino, Half-Puerto Rican), I champion diverse storytelling and points of view, leading teams to execute innovative campaigns that engage audiences and connect emotionally. I'm driven by curiosity, always searching for the clever solution to a creative problem, embracing technology and leaning on experience to deliver the good stuff.
I help studios, brands, and agencies understand where the story lives, how to coax it out, and how to spread it in the most emotional - and effective - way possible.
I dig in deep - I'll mess with the edit on my own, I'll jump into Photoshop and After Effects to design the graphics, I'll get that pitch deck and look book to the finish starting line.
It's a mix of creative and technical skills. I know when things are in and out of scope. I know how to accomplish the hard asks - and I know where to turn to for the impossible ones.
I speak filmmaker because I am one. I'm repped at UTA as a screenwriter. Got a movie on Netflix called "The Old Ways" if you wanna check it out.
Other interests? Making wood-fired pizzas in the backyard, playing super complicated boardgames, and practicing my barbershop skills on any member of the family that'll have me.
Thanks for stopping by.
